JUAN DÁVILA Y VERDIN

Juan Dávila y Verdin, born in Santa Fe, Argentina, has pursued an international career across various countries, including the United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Belgium, and Monaco. He is the Founder and General Director of The FuturED Institute – an international educational organisation specialising in higher education for sustainable development – and serves as the CEO and Managing Director of the International Green Trade and Commerce Association, also known as the International Green Chamber of Commerce. Involved in several startups, companies, and organisations related to investments and finance, international trade, and sustainable development, he has authored a diverse range of journalistic and academic articles published in Spanish, English, Dutch, Italian, and French.

In recent years, Juan has served as the Head of the Delegation of the United Nations University for Peace at the UN Climate Change Conferences. In 2024, he was declared Illustrious Citizen of the City of Santa Fe, Argentina, and earned recognition from both the Chamber of Deputies and the Chamber of Senators of the Province of Santa Fe for promoting higher education innovation and sustainability.

In 2023, he became the first Argentine to receive Freedom of the City of London for his contributions to higher education and sustainability. His efforts have also been recognized by National Geographic. In 2022, his educational organisation, FuturED, was selected by Google as a case study among 500 influential companies in Latin America and the United Kingdom. The FuturED Institute was showcased at the prestigious Royal Institution in an event organised by Canning House and the UK Department for International Trade.

In 2021, Juan was honored as a Fellow of the Royal Society for Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) and elected as a Member of the Royal Historical Society (RHS).

Juan’s academic journey began at the National University of the Litoral (UNL), where he graduated in History. He furthered his education by earning a BA (Hons) in Global Politics and International Relations from Birkbeck, University of London. Additionally, he holds an MBA from the International University of Monaco and a Master’s in International Law and Diplomacy from the United Nations University for Peace (UPEACE) and the United Nations Institute of Training and Research (UNITAR). He is currently a doctoral researcher in business administration with a focus on higher education management at the University of Bath.

With over fifteen years of project management experience in international settings with private and public companies and non-governmental organizations, he brings a deep understanding of organizational structures and has proven his ability to navigate extraordinary challenges.
